Really can't give enough accolades to Shan. He's a great tour guide!! Knows so much and knows everyone. We stayed here for 10 days for a wedding with our two year old, and Shan showed us so many interesting and cool places, all while trying to help us buy things from local people and accommodating our son. He also knew tons about each place or helped connect us to the local tour guide on site. He gave great advice and recommendations and was ready to help us out in a heartbeat. I would recommend him to everyone who visits this part of Sri Lanka.

Shan is an excellent guide, the whole trip was in a friendly spirit. It is easy to arrange a trip with him, he is happy to accommodate your requests. Compared to the same trip offered by the tour operator we had a much better experience, the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend

Shan has arranged for us the 7-day trip across central Sri Lanka. Our driver, Turuq, has been waiting for us at the starting point, Negombo. We first drove to Sigirya, than Kandy. We planned to go further to Nuwara Eliya but Turuq advised to change the plan as the roads have been partly flooded or covered with mud-slides and Nuwara partly flooded. We decided to do down to Bentota. The trip has been difficult because the main road has been closed at upper part. Turuq drove very safely and we have been happy to be free from danger. Actually, he drove the whole round trip very safely, and has been super punctual. We could easily communicate, and he often added points of interest to our original itinerary. Highly recommended!

We did 3 days of tours with Shan. Easily the best tour guide travel planner experience I have ever had. On top of that we did it with a 2 y.o. with us. I was worried Shan would be annoyed after a long day with us but I was completely wrong. By the end of the day my toddler was asking "where's Shan?". He's surprisingly popular with everyone almost everywhere we went. He saved us money, kept our trip extremely comfortable, entertained us on long drives, helped with odd requests, and did so much I can't even list it all here. Whenever I'm in Sri Lanka again I will ask Shan for tips whether it's where to stay or where to get dinner.

We visited Waskaduwa in October 2025. We met Shan on the first day, and the rest of our vacation was a breeze. Shan showed us the best restaurants, shops, beaches, and attractions. He was always available and helpful. All excursions were private, without the crowds, and at a very reasonable price! Shan always knew what day and time we needed to be there to find the fewest people and get great photos. Incidentally, Shan is also an excellent photographer and has never let us down. An amazing guide and a truly wonderful friend! We went on all our excursions with him. He was completely safe, and we made it to every spot before the crowds arrived. Cheaper than the beach boys, he speaks much better Russian, gives engaging stories, and answers all our questions. He's a very professional guide, responsive, punctual, and always available. We vacationed with my family in January and met Shan, a great guy. He's in a tuktuk with his brother, Pubudu. He organized several excursions for us, took us to good restaurants and shops. The main thing is that it's fast, honest, and at the best prices. He's a good person, responsive. He even organized my youngest son's birthday party in Sri Lankan style, on the ocean shore, for which we're incredibly grateful. Overall, I highly recommend him!

We stayed at the Citrus Waskaduwa Hotel in January and February of this year. We had the most wonderful experiences, thanks in part to meeting Shan. This young man helped us get to know the southern coast of Sri Lanka better, visiting interesting tourist spots, exploring local shops, and bringing home small souvenirs for our loved ones! Shan, a local tuk-tuk owner, is a great tour guide and psychologist: he always finds common ground with a wide variety of people. My husband and I were particularly impressed by his excellent knowledge of Russian and his personal culture. He had at least several suggestions for every request we had. We want to express our gratitude for the wonderful time we spent with Shan.

… Shan is young, very honest, and kind. He helped us with everything: exchange money, took us to places with the best rates, and fulfilled everything we asked for at the lowest prices. He took us to buy their indescribably delicious fruits, always asking the seller for a big discount. He organized excursions around Sri Lanka and took us surfing. He also speaks good Russian, which was especially important to my husband. So, I'm sure you'll enjoy traveling with Shan!

We went on a tour with Shan. He tailored it to our needs, combining swimming on the beaches with sightseeing. We visited a Buddhist temple, took a boat ride on the Bentota River (practically a petting zoo), visited a turtle farm, fed turtles on the beach in Hakkaduwa, toured the fort in Galle, and swam on the beaches of Unawatuna. At the end of the trip, Shan treated us to delicious coconuts. Highly recommended!

He's a really cool guy, speaks Russian perfectly, knows all the places in Sri Lanka, and always brought us to the best places for everything we asked for (veterinary clinics, good pharmacies, spices, restaurants, markets, barbershops, massages). He leads tours very competently, taking us to beautiful places when there aren't many people. Overall, we were very happy to meet him. We went on 5 days of excursions with him, rented a bike through him, and bought fruit and fish—everything from him, and at a good price. He's definitely one of the best in Sri Lanka.

Shan is an excellent guide and a great person. He speaks Russian fluently and was a joy to talk to. We booked all our excursions exclusively with him and never regretted it. He showed us all the most interesting sights and told us tons of fascinating stories. He was always available for help, and he helped us out and offered advice on everything from shopping and pharmacies to the best beaches in Sri Lanka. All our trips were comfortable and the atmosphere was very friendly and fun.

We vacationed at the Turyaa Hotel in May 2023, met Shan, and spent most of our trips with him. Shan is a very nice and kind guy, engaging, responsive, and always happy to help. His tuk-tuk rides are the cheapest we've seen, and he's always there to show us around. He makes everything cheaper—buying fruit and tea is even cheaper—and even gets a better exchange rate than the exchange office! We went on a two-day excursion with him, which was cheaper than anywhere else we could find. Plus, it was a private tour, and he took all our wishes into account. He went with us everywhere, checking in and making sure everything was to our liking, and even bought us juice and ice cream himself. In short, we were very pleased with our experience with him. I highly recommend him!

Hi everyone! We arrived in Sri Lanka in April. We'd heard about Shanuk in tourist Telegram chats. We met him on our first day and have been inseparable ever since. He took us on two private minibus excursions (it was cheaper than the tour operator, but at least we were alone in the car), and he drove us into town twice – to pick up fruit and to go shopping (souvenirs, lunch, and a fruit stand). He negotiates with the locals, negotiates the best deals, and introduces us to local sights. We highly recommend him! Say hi from Nastya and Sergey.

We traveled with Shan around the southwest: a boat safari, a turtle hatchery, Hikkaduwa Beach, and the old Galle Fort. Everything was great, we were very happy. Shan is very hard-working, speaks acceptable English and Russian, and got tickets for half price. We didn't go to Yala, but his price was lower than the beach boys, not to mention the travel agencies. I recommend him.

In a word, he's fantastic! He's a very responsive guy and speaks Russian well. He shows us great locations for everything we need. He really makes sure you're comfortable; you can reach out to him with any need, and he'll take care of it. He'll show you where to eat and take you to an exchange office with a good rate. After mixed experiences with locals, I found Shan on Google Maps—it was a bull's-eye. He surprised us after the first day with his transportation and tour prices. The nicest young man in all of Sri Lanka! You can't miss meeting him. Shane is a great deal, if you tell him you need to exchange money, he will take you when you want to shop, he will take you to a great place🛍️ when you want tea🍵, he will recommend a small shop where it smells wonderful and you don't know which tea to choose....we went on a day trip to Mirissa, Hikkaduwa and Beruwala Beach💦. Perfect deal, negotiated price and a car with air conditioning is convenient 🚗
